The Auxiliary
Giving Back To
Community
Volunteering offers many opportunities.
It's a great way to contribute to the community, gain experience
and fosters personal growth. The hours are flexible and the
rewards are endless. It's a labor of love . . . and the
reward is in the service of giving back.
Former Community Hospital of San Bernardino's
Administrator Virginia Henderson founded the Auxiliary in
1958. Mrs. Henderson suggested to the staff doctors that
volunteers might be able to help the hospital. Upon approval
by the physicians, Mrs. Henderson began recruiting.
Today, the Auxiliary has over 120 members who
provide a wide array of services to the hospital. These
services include greeting visitors at the front desk, behind the
counter in the Gift Shop, assisting with patient care in the units,
sewing crafts in the Volunteer Center or guiding patients and
visitors to their destinations.
If you have a few hours to spare, each week,
and would like to experience the fulfillment that comes from giving
to others, please contact the Community Hospital of San Bernardino

Vol-N-Teen Program
The
Vol-N-Teen Program provides
wonderful opportunities for youths to volunteer and gain valuable
experience in various departments within the hospital
setting. It also creates insight into various career
opportunities.
If you, or someone you know is interested in
the Vol-N-Teen Program, please
